1. Processor
The iPad 2 is powered by Apple’s 1GHz dual-core Apple A5 processor, which is a huge improvement over the previous iPad’s A4. The A5 chip showcases a graphical performance that is extremely faster than the older version. The iPad 2′s RAM size is 512MB.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is powered by the 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor. However, its available RAM is 1GB.

2. Display
The iPad 2 also features a brilliant 9.7-inch backlit-LED IPS screen, the same size of the original iPad, with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a magnificent 10.1-inch, with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. Its screen size is about half an inch larger than the iPad 2.
3. Build and Design
The iPad 2 has been designed with flawless build quality and it is extremely thin, which is slimmer and lighter than its original one. It is more comfortable to carry with one hand. It measures 9.5 x 7.3 x 0.3 inches, and weighs 601g for Wi-Fi only, and 612g for Wi-Fi and 3G model.

4. Operating System
The iPad 2 runs iOS 4.3 with the improvements over the previous OS in terms of web browsing and application.
However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 operates Android 3.1, which has developed the multi-tasking to another level. This “Honeycomb” OS seems more user-friendly.
5. Camera
The iPad 2 is equipped with two cameras, a 0.7-megapixel rear camera with 720P HD capture capability, and a VGA front facing camera for video-conferencing purposes.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 sports a 3 megapixel rear camera, 720p video, and a 2 megapixel camera in front for video chat.
6. Connectivity
The iPad 2 comes with Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR and optional 3G connectivity. An HDMI output is also included . However, it still lacks a MicroSD slot and a USB port.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity. However, it also has no microSD card slot as well.
The Verdict
These two tablets have their own unique features and showcase several interesting features to the table. The the iPad 2 is recommended to the more casual tablet users, who are looking for a simple and easy to use tablet. However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is recommended for the more hardcore tablet users. Its Abode Flash Player for web browsing allow you to do more with the web, and its intuitive Android Honeycomb OS makes multitasking a breeze.
