For budget tablet PC, VitalASC has managed to release its Android tablet with some superb features, and quite rightly it stood at the top of the budget Android tablet range. Now the VitalASC Center-ST0716 has been released, it is a similarly low-cost tablet PC that has quite the same appeal.

The VitalASC Center-ST0716 tablet PC has a 7-inch, 800 X 480 pixel screen just as its predecessor did. Where that specification was very welcome in a low-cost Android tablet PC class, now it is much more commonplace and so less of a surprise.

This tablet gives you the power in the palm of your hand. The processor runs 1.2GHz with 512MB DDR3 memory. Android 2.3 is operating system with Flash 11 support, which is a must have feature. Web browsing is easy with Flash, it is great to see VitalASC tablet up the stakes here. Additionally, you can stay connected, entertained, and productive on the go by connecting to Wi-Fi hotspots.

There is just the one camera. The VitalASC Center-ST0716 has been fitted with a disappointing 0.3MP front-facing camera, so do not expect to be looking your best. It does work for video calling.

The design looks nice with glossy white backplate. It does have curved upper and lower edges that give it something of an expensive look like a more expensive device than it actually is. This is a good point. It is quite thin too, at 0.4-inch, and its weight of 370g is very portable in one or both hands.

The 7-inch capacitive multi-touchscreen is responsive with 5-point support. There is a microSD card slot for boosting the 8GB internal storage to fill all your apps, movies, music, or e-books.

With its high-performance processing and multimedia capabilities, the Center-ST0716 is a great video and music player, supporting a wide range of formats and with several media apps on board. Playing the latest games, reading e-book, viewing photos, listening to music playback, updating social networking, browsing the web, and watching video on the go, all on this affordable tablet PC. Its hardware acceleration consumes very low power for HD video and graphics.

As many other tablets offer, the VitalASC Center-ST0716 has HDMI out support, you do not get a cable in the box so you will need to purchase one if you want to make use of its HDMI port, you can connect to an external screen like LCD monitor or HDTV for video outputs in 1080p.

The 4200mAh Rechargeable Li-Polymer battery is rated as good for 5-6 hours, especially if you are not too heavy on the media use.

Overall, the VitalASC Center-ST0716 7-Inch Android 2.3 Tablet PC has superb support for media formats, but let down by a poor front camera. It is a great budget tablet PC for the price with a good range of specifications. At this price point, it is not bad value for a low-cost Android tablet PC, it is worth buying.
